Whether you are Weebly Basic or Premium user, you can link to any content that you upload to your website and allow your visitors to download it. As a Premium user, you will also have the option to embed a document so it is directly visible on a page.

Note: While both Basic and Premium users can upload files, Basic users are limited in the file size they can upload. Basic users may only upload files of up to 5MB in size, and Premium users may upload files of up to 100MB.

You can create a file download on either a text element (with selected text) or on an image element. To do this:

  1. Select the object on your page (text or image) to which you'd like to link the file.
  2. Click the link button on the toolbar.
  3. In the link dialog box, select File on Your Website.
    • If you have not previously uploaded a file, or if you wish to upload a new one, click upload a file.

Once you have uploaded your file, it will be available to download from your published site. If you click on the link within the editor, you will be presented with the following toolbar which will allow you to make changes to the link:

  1. From the Multimedia section of the Elements tab, drag and drop the Embedded Document element to the page.

Note: The Download link in the file viewer does not work. This is an issue with Scribd and not with HostGator or Weebly. Weebly is currently working with Scribd to resolve the issue

For the time being, if you need to create a download link for the file, you should use the Link to a File for Download instructions above See Below.
