Wildcard SSL

A Wildcard SSL Certificate enables SSL encryption on all subdomains using a single certificate. Those subdomains must have the same second level domain name (i.e. domain.com).

Example: A wildcard certificate issued to *.yourdomain.com may be used to secure the following domains:

  • billing.yourdomain.com
  • support.yourdomain.com

Do you sell wild card SSLs?

We allow wild card SSL on shared and dedicated servers.

The price for a one year certificate is $400 plus admin install time, which depends on the number of subdomains.

Please email sales@hostgator.com for details and to purchase.

Note: Each time you wish to have an additional subdomain load securely with https, the virtual host entries for that subdomain need to be manually added by our administrators. This is even true for new subdomains which are created through cPanel. Anytime you wish for a new subdomain to load securely with the wild card SSL, a request with support@hostgator.com will be necessary to make it work.
