About Reseller WHM

We provide all resellers with a limited WHM. These limits help us control what actions the reseller is allowed.

As a reseller, you will have:

  • The tools needed to create, delete, and suspend your cPanel accounts.
  • The tools needed to manage and monitor your sites (password resets).
  • Access to all of your domains' DNS zones.
  • The ability to configure your own customers' support requests through cPanel.
  • Permission to check the server information and status.
  • Access to customize your hosting and control panel (skeleton directory, branding).
  • Ability to change your client domain names and usernames.

Resellers will NOT have:

  • Ability to change your primary username.
  • Access to install SSL certificates.
  • Permission to restart services (http, mail, sql, ssh).
  • Access to Fantastico Admin.
  • Ability to assign IP addresses.
  • The automated backups tool.
  • The reseller center (used for managing resellers).

For advanced functions, you can contact HostGator support.  For example, we can assist you with installing SSL Certificates for your clients (purchased from us or a third party) and assigning a dedicated IP address to your client's account.

PleskWHM is the control panel for administering a server, and allows you to create and manage cPanels, and set certain global settings that apply to all the accounts, or the server.

WHM is available on most of our Linux hosting plans, including Reseller Hosting, VPS and Linux Dedicated Servers.

If you dont have acces to:
install SSL certificates.
assign IP addresses.
when a client ask you for those, what answer can you give ?
That You are not authorized to do that or can you ask to hostgator to do that?

HostGator
You personally request HostGator to do this (via Account Addons), and then you pass the cost to your customer.

Hi Danny, i have had the same issue in the past, and what i did it told the clients that i will contact them back as soon as its done, and there after contact your host and request them to do that! when the client ask you the costs before you done the work, just give them an estimate. if there's a big difference, just tell them that there were complications or it took longer (if less - which is better, tell them that you gave them a discount, they like that A LOT!!! just sharing a thought! good luck

I am a customer of a reseller who has closed their biusiness. What safeguards are there for customers such as me? Where is my data held.

HostGator
Hopefully you have a backup file of your site. You can use that backup to resume hosting anywhere you choose.

You may also contact HostGator and hope we still have the reseller's account in suspension. If so, we will allow you to purchase hosting with HostGator and retrieve your content.
