I forgot my password and need a reset

CPANEL /WHM
Check your welcome email for the correct user name and password. If that password is not working, please contact HostGator via phone or live chat.

Password Reset: Before we reset your password, we may need to request some information to verify your identity. We apologize for the inconvenience this might cause.

Note: Changing your cPanel password will also update your main FTP account's password. Also, SiteStudio and Sitebuilder rely on your cPanel password to work correctly. If you change your cPanel password, SiteStudio and Sitebuilder will have to be reconfigured. In this case, please email sales@hostgator.com and request your Sitebuilder to be updated with your new password.

BILLING
The login is your contact email address and the original password you signed-up with. If that password is not working, please go to hostgator.com/billing and click Forgot Your Password link. If you do NOT get an email with a new password, then please contact HostGator via phone or live chat.

EMAIL
We cannot reset this kind of password. Instead, you can sign into cPanel and click the Email Accounts icon. At the bottom, under Functions, click Change Password. You do not need the old password to set a new one.

SITE BUILDER
Check your ticket for the original user name and password. Otherwise, email sales@hostgator.com to request the correct login.

RESELLER'S CUSTOMER
We cannot reset this kind of password. Instead, go to WHM and click Password Modification (under Account Functions). Select the account domain name or username and then type the new password. Click Change Password and it's done.

Note: This will reset the password for cPanel, Site Studio, and the main FTP account.

DATABASE
We cannot reset this kind of password. Instead, you must create a new user with a new password. Do not worry, this will not erase or change any of the data in your database!

  1. Go to cPanel, click Mysql Databases.
  2. Add New User with the desired password.
  3. Add the new User To Database.
  4. Change your site configuration settings to the new user name and password.

WEBSITE ADMIN
This is a username and password you picked and Hostgator does not know. There is no possible way for us to retrieve your admin password. However, it is possible to reset the password in a way that your script developer provides. Please check the official website of the script developer.
