Can I get a dedicated IP to avoid server blacklisting?

With shared and reseller hosting, there are other people using your mail server. This means that one spammer can get everyone on that IP address blocked by a blacklist.


Is that true on a VPS also?

I was under the impression we were getting a dedicated IP with our package. We got caught with the situation when we shared an IP and a spammer put us on a black list. This is the one thing I didn't want. I'm going to have to re-think all of this now. I'm not sure we can keep this account.

I was going to ask a question, however, after reading the above - my question (about email server) has changed.

If I need to have my OWN Domain and Email address VERIFIED - so it can be directly and positively personally VERIFIED (so it is MY email server and NOT have websitewelcome.com shown as the owner) - (1) what is the minimum $ per month plan I can have and (2) does having MY OWN SSL certificate make any difference?
