535 Incorrect authentication data
If you have a Linux dedicated server, you can fix this problem. In root WHM, go to Email > Repair Mailbox permissions.

This worked for me. I had read about just changing the password to the same thing but that was a not go. WHM/Email/Repair Mailbox permissions was the ticket. The question now is, how did it happen?

My WHM 11.24.2 - X 3.9 doesn't have a Repair Mailbox Permissions option under Email. There's only Email Troubleshooter.

This option is only available to Dedicated servers with WHM.
If you are on a shared server, you will need HostGator's help as mentioned above.
