Custom Installations

Can I install the programs myself?

As long as you can upload the install files to your site and install on your side, yes.
You will need a dedicated server if the program must be installed on the server.

Most of our packages include QuickInstall and/or Fantastico De Luxe, which can be accessed in your cPanel, which will install a variety of applications/software with a few clicks. If you have the Plesk control panel, you can install popular applications within Plesk.

Can you install a program for me?

We still do some of the installs that are normally pre-installed or offered. (ModernBill, WHMAP, standard phpBB installations, gallery, WHMCS and so forth.)

How much is it to install a custom script?

We do not support every install; however, you can email support@hostgator.com and we will provide a quote if it's something we can do.

Can you install WEC (Web Empowered Church) CMS it is based on TYPO3 but you have to install their version. Also the PHP memory limit usually needs to be raised to 64MB and file permissions set to 755.

That is a client-side program. You can easily upload and install it yourself.

Can I have you install Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.3 or 5.4 as the OS on the dedicated server? This is required to run Oracle EB Tax R12.

Yes, but since Ubuntu is not compatible with cPanel, your VPS will be considered unmanaged.

Some VM's can be installed on dedicated servers; just remember, we don't support them.

Yes, an IP can be assigned and translated to a private IP (using NAT) that the VM would use, but again, not something we can support.

Thanks for reply, but I want to setup a virtual machine with an public Ip which hosts other services ( smtp, pop3 or an other application server) with 1:1 nat. Also I need to configure a raid 1+0 for redundancy.

You must have VPS or dedicated hosting to change those versions. Otherwise, you must use what HostGator provides.
