What control panel do you use and do you have a demo?

The first control panel we support is called cPanel. If you have reseller privileges, we also provide WHM (Web Host Manager) for managing multiple cPanels.  The other control panel we support is Plesk.  The control panel you will use will depend on what type of hosting package you obtain.

Shared Web Hosting

Reseller, Linux Dedicated and VPS+cPanel Hosting

Windows Shared, Windows Dedicated and VPS+Plesk Hosting

Plesk 9*

*Some older dedicated servers and VPS accounts may still be running Plesk 9.  All new accounts are Plesk 10.

Wrong Language in the cPanel Demo?

If someone changes the language, you can change it back by going into the demo and entering http://174.121.236.237:2082/frontend/x3/setlang/index.html in the address bar.

Select the option which says "(English)" and hit the button to the right.

The above demos are misleading. I dont know what the other cPanels look like, but I just signed up for Shared hosting and the entire left column of my cPanel (which shows site stats in the above Demo) is riddled with ads. I'm rather annoyed.

What's worse, one of the adds is to Quick Install WordPress (which I was planning on installing) so I clicked it and installed...and the ad still remains. So now I'll have 2"x2" of my control panel taken up by a worthless ad. I can only imagine it will be the same for the Google and Yahoo/Bing ads as well (which take up most of the rest of the column). Not happy given that I am paying for the service and I have to do 2 page-downs to see my usage stats & actual useful info.

Actually, the things you mentioned are not ads at all. No one is paying to show up in your control panel. Rather, they are link to commonly used features. For example, QuickInstall is the utility for installing applications. There is no charge to use it. We put it in the left column to make it easy to find. Same with the links to the Site Builders. Included with your hosting, and placed there to be easy to find.

I suppose you could consider Google and Bing as ads, but they are free offers that many of our customers look for, so we made them easy to find. There are some offers in the control panel, but most of the items you identified as ads actually are not ads. They are just fancy buttons for commonly used features.

Thanks for your reply. I contacted support today and they informed me that you can remove these items by clicking on Change Style in your preferences and selecting a different theme. This is great news to me! I didnt see this mentioned on the site (I may have missed it), but if it's not, it might be nice to have this info posted somewhere in Support or have a link to "remove these 'ads'" within the cPanel.

I understand your point about them being offers about some possibly useful things, and not necessarily ads paid for by someone, but they are still promoting something and if I redeemed them and they were not longer useful to me, I thought they should go away. They were very distracting to me to be within a control panel, but alas, it doesnt matter due to the theme change. thanks again.
