Can I upgrade at any time? How much does it cost?

If I have already paid for a year of service and want to upgrade How and When would the charges apply for the upgrade? I.E. I paid full year for hatchling and want to upgrade to business.

As soon as you submit the upgrade request, we will upgrade you and charge the pro-rated difference.

The calculation is Business annual price minus amount already paid, and then multiply by the percentage of the year remaining.

Example: Say you paid $66.72 for a year of Hatchling with coupon. The new price for a year of Business is $179.40. The difference is $112.68. Pretend you used the Hatchling for 3 months, then upgraded. Multiply by 75% for the remaining 9 months. $112.68 x 75% = $84.51 you will owe.

I did not discount the Business price because, technically, you cannot use a coupon code when upgrading. However, the calculation may vary depending on the judgment of our sales team.

Is it upgrading if you have a regular hosting account now and want to try your luck at a reseller account?

And is it possible to have an affiliate account and a reseller account?

Yes, it is an upgrade to move from Shared Webhosting to Reseller. (Any change where the new plan cost more than the old plan is considered an upgrade.)

Yes, you can be a reseller and an affiliate, but you cannot receive commission for referring customers to your reseller hosting. (Either they are your customers and they pay you, or you refer them to HostGator and they pay us. One sign-up cannot be both.)

I understood that if i buy for example hatchling plan for 36 monts, the 20% discount coupon code would be valid for every monthly pay for those next 36 months.

But what if im wanting to upgrade the hatchling to business, do i then loose the 20% discount from the monthly pays?

No worries, we will treat you fairly. The upgrade can be calculated retroactively and we simply charge you the difference.
