How to change payment methods, Stop charging me via credit card

To change your method of payment, follow the directions below for your method of payment of choice.

However, if you want to stop hosting with us, and stop paying all together, then you must cancel your account using our online form.


Credit Cards & Payment Cards

To remove a card and/or place a new card on file, please log in to your client area at https://gbclient.hostgator.com with your email address on file and your billing password. You may use the forgot password option if you do not remember your billing password.

To Remove a Card on File

  1. From the main screen, click "Update Credit Card(s)" under "Billing Details" on the left menu.
  2. Click on "Click Here" where is says "Click Here to remove a credit card."
  3. Select the card to remove and and click "Remove Selected Cards".

To Add a New Card

  1. From the main screen, click "Update Credit Card(s)" under "Billing Details" on the left menu.
  2. Choose "Add New Card", or select the card to update, and click "Update Settings".
  3. Add the credit card number and expiration date in the appropriate fields and click "Update Settings".

How to Unsubscribe via PayPal

We are unable to cancel any PayPal subscriptions for you. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Login at paypal.com (HostGator cannot provide this login)
  2. Click the My Account tab.
  3. Click the History subtab.
  4. Click More filters, select Subscriptions and agreements, and then click Subscriptions. [View Screenshot]
  5. Change the date back to the year the subscription was created, and then click Show. [View Screenshot]
  6. Click Details next to the subscription.
  7. At the bottom of this page, click Cancel Subscription.
  8. On the confirmation page, click Cancel Subscription again.

Paypal recently updated their site, and there are now 2 more options to canceling your payment subscriptions:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click Profile near the top of the page.
  3. Click My Preapproved Payments in the Financial Information column.
  4. Click View the Agreement next to the merchant agreement you want to cancel.
  5. Click Cancel or Cancel automatic billing and follow the instructions.

Or

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click Profile near the top of the page.
  3. Click My money.
  4. Click Update in the My preapproved payments section.
  5. Click Cancel or Cancel automatic billing and follow the instructions.

How to Subscribe by PayPal

This is how you can tell PayPal to make your payments automatically. Please understand that HostGator will not be in control over the amount of money you send or when PayPal sends it. If you want the automatic payments to stop, you must cancel the Paypal Subscription.

Please do not subscribe in a way which makes your payments late; doing so could cause late fees or service interruption.

  • Please sign in at https://gbclient.hostgator.com
  • Once signed in, click Manage Subscriptions (in the left-hand menu).
  • Enter your payment information under the Paypal Subscription Creator.
    • Initial Payment - This is the amount you want to pay immediately.
    • Start Cycle In - This is how long PayPal should wait before making the first automated payment. This needs to be the starting date so PayPal can determine when to make future automated payments.
    • Billing Cycle - This determines how long PayPal should wait between automated payments. After the first automated payment, PayPal will count these days/months and then make the second automated payment, etc.
    • Billing Cycle Cost - This is the amount of money PayPal should send for every automated payment. PayPal cannot send a different amount every cycle, so you may need to make manual payments if you order extra services which incur one-time fees.
  • Click the "Subscribe" button.

I paid for one month, but wanted to pay for 1 year. How can I change that. Also I should have gotten a % off the entire year and now I only got the % off 1 month.
Let me know what I can do.
