Can I get extra bandwidth and space?

I have a few co-workers that doubt that I have unlimited disk and bandwidth usage through your shared Baby plan. How can I prove that I can store any realistic amount of data without penalty? They're trying to pick through your TOS without any luck but they still don't believe me...

Yes, you truly get unlimited disk space and bandwidth. Of course, this is not the same as infinite disk space and bandwidth, which would be impossible to believe.

Since we do not limit disk space and bandwidth on those accounts, there are some other limitations. Those are completely outlined in section 7 of our TOS.

in respect to the unlimited disk space, i have big questions, i signed up with another web hosting company, and when i signed up they had an amazingly high limit, 1,000GB web space and 8,000GB bandwidth per month. the company that rhymes with dieXwebhosting later moved it's limit to unlimited in both space and bandwidth, they now tell me that unlimited in my case means 40GB of disk space, as i was at 65GB they turned me off with a TOS violation and are making me delete lots of my junk to get me down below 40gb. so unlimited means 40gb on the other companies terms.

as i'm now looking to move to another webhost to host my site, i am looking for details pertaining to the unlimited and a guaranty of a minimum space for the length of my hosting contract. As i feel i have been bitten by them, i am a little shy of the word unlimited. please tell me if you are different than them, and how you could gauranty a better service with a locked in minimum web space alotment with a hard number, the reality side of the unlimited claim.

Unlimited disk space really means unlimited disk space here at HostGator.

We will not limit your account based on how much disk space you use, nor will we require you to reduce your account's disk space usage to a determined ceiling.

We do limit other factors, and expect that you will follow the TOS regarding acceptable material. This means we can require you to reduce the number of files (inodes), and we can require you to remove file dumps and illegal files (such as copyrighted by someone else).

We also discontinue the courtesy weekly backup of your account if you exceed 20 GB of disk space, but we still do not force you to get below 20 GB.

I thought it would be a simple answer to my problem but having looked everywhere for a solution I am at a loss.
I am a new customer and need to increase my bandwidth and disc space, but where? So far I have not used any!

This is a simple, and very common, answer.

You must be a reseller or higher, else your disk space and bandwidth would not be limited. Therefore, I deduce that you have not created a WHM Package for your domain's cPanel.

If a reseller needs more space/bandwidth than the highest plan available, and they buy a second reseller plan, are both reseller plans managed under a single WHM control panel?

No, they would exist as two separate WHM's.
