How do I accept credit card payments for my business?

Merchant providers offer payment gateways for accepting credit cards. You will need to sign up with one.

PayPal offers a free gateway (Website Payments Standard), but you can choose any you like. Though if you do not want your visitors sent to PayPal's website, we recommend the Website Payments Pro upgrade for $30 per month. See the details here.

You will need a shopping cart to sell items in your store. Shopping Carts are available in Fantastico.

Hi,
i want to build a website which will offer digital downloadable items once payment by credit card through 2Checkout is processed and confirmed. How can I add this service in my website?

HostGator
Either find a script/CMS which offers this feature (like VirtueMart), or hire a web designer to make it from scratch.

How do I post the Paypal button within SiteBuilder?

HostGator
Please read the article titled "How do I insert custom code into my site design?".

Or simply visit this link... http://support.hostgator.com/articles/how-do-i-insert-custom-code-into-my-site-design

Ninth Prince
Can I do that within eShop, or should I be creating my own catalog pages?

HostGator
Yes, eShop will work perfectly.

Please read "Adding an eShop" at
http://hostgator.com/tutorials.shtml#sitebuilder

The "Addiing an eShop" tutorial simply shows me how to enable Paypal, not how to create and add a Paypay button that allows me to accept credit cards. In other words, it looks like enabling Paypal forces the customer to pay via Paypal, rather than using Paypal to pay via credit card. Am I wrong on this?

I have a reseller account and also a Paypal pro acct. So how does whmcs come into the picture? I have signed up, but not able to put the pieces together. If I create a website to sell hosting services, www.hosting.com use my paypal account. Do I manly create a new account after a purchase? Or how does WHMCS fit into the picture? Is there any automation? Could I build the site with Prestashop?

HostGator
WHMCS is your billing program, PayPal is the payment processor, and WHM is the hosting program.

Your customer will sign up through your WHMCS interface. WHMCS will ask them to pay and process the payment using your PayPal Pro. If the payment is successful WHMCS can communicate with WHM to create the hosting account automatically, or you can just create the account manually next time you are in WHM. (Domain registrations will need to be processed separately or manually.)

Once the account is created in WHM, you can start the web design.

I would recommend using AVP solutions to <a href="http://avpsolutions.com/">accept online payments</a>. They're very helpful and have fairly decent rates.
