Free downloadable templates for my website

The 4,500 templates can be downloaded at templates.hostgator.com.

They are free to use for any site which is on a HostGator server (even your clients).

Important Note: These templates are intended for web designers.  You must have experience using a HTML or Flash editor to customize the templates.  If you are a novice and do not wish to learn HTML, we suggest you use some of our other alternatives such as Sitebuilder, SiteStuido, BaseKit, WordPress, or other available options you may find online.

These downloadable templates are not compatible with our site builders. The site builder programs we offer have their own templates which are not interchangeable.

You are allowed 10 downloads during any 24 hour period.

You can remove the "Powered by HostGator" at the bottom of templates, and make any changes they want to the source code, but we cannot advise how to do that.

Having trouble downloading the templates?

  1. Be sure to use your control panel login or a working FTP login.

    VPS/Dedicated: Your root login will not work for this download; you must create a control panel login or an FTP login to use. Root WHM users, be sure to first Create a New Account in WHM, then use your cPanel user name and password. Plesk Admin users, be sure to first Add New Customer in your Parallels Plesk Panel, then use your customer name and password.

  2. Try replacing your domain name with the server's IP address, or the server's hostname, or one of the server's name servers.

  3. A better alternative for cPanel users is to click the icon in your cPanel. You can find this icon under the Advanced section.
    Resellers: You can enable this link by using the WHM's Feature Manager. However, the download will not work for your clients if they have the same password as your WHM password! Your clients must be logged into cPanel using their unique username and password.

    VPS/Dedicated with cPanel: You can request this link be added to your server by creating a ticket or e-mailing support@hostgator.com.  Once added, then you will be able to turn on and off that link for your cPanels using WHM's Feature Manager. However, the download will not work for your clients if they have the same password as your WHM password! Your clients must be logged into cPanel using their own username and password.

Success, now what?

Once you download the template to your computer, you can customize it and upload it with FTP.

Hello! I bought an account and I'm trying to download a template (like than on the URL http://templates.hostgator.com/show/Enhanced_Flash_Templates/Art/MG/4224) but after compiling the download form, I receive this error message: "There was a problem getting your download. Could not connect to [my main domain]", but my DNS is not yet pointing to hostgator. Please help!

Another option is to use our server IP address in place of your domain name.

So, find our IP address in your welcome email, then use that IP instead of your domain name when downloading templates. (You will still use the same username and password as before.)

Hi, I download a template, the 4441 from weddings, Could you tell me what fonts are you using in the logo and menu titles so I can modifyed and keep the desing congruent?

It is impossible for us to know, as these logos are images.

Just use the closest font you can find, or replace these images with your own custom set so that every image can have the same font of your choice.

I successfully downloaded one template, however on my second attempt, I get the following message: Unable to archive "4754.zip". Error 1 - Operation not permitted.

Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Template 4754 works great for me. Remember that we do limit you to 10 downloads within any 24 hour period.

Hi I am completely new to this site and I have downloaded a couple of the templates but I can't for the life of me find them to use them? I go into file mgr and control panel I see no options and when I go to upload a file it only gives me the things I have in my documents on my computer...nothing about where the templates are that I have downloaded...I feel like a idiot with everything. I don't get it. I have used the turiorls videos FAQ's just not working. ahhhhhhhhhhhh lol

You just need to download the template again, but this time watch where you save it.

Before you hit the Save button, take note of the location where you are saving. It will help if you choose one of the left buttons so you can save in a common area.

Yes, we do maintain the rights to the template, and the template cannot be used on a non-HostGator server.
