Using Sitebuilder with Addon domains

Important Note: HostGator does not support the use of Sitebuilder for addon and subdomains, but it is possible.

If you want to use Sitebuilder for addon or subdomains, you must enter the correct FTP settings in the Admin Panel.

How to Create a second Site

  1. Login to your Sitebuilder account and look at the top for the Admin Panel icon. Click the icon. [screen shot]
  2. In the left menu, click "Sites". Then click the "Add New Site" icon. [screen shot]
  3. Put whatever you want for the site name. Then click the Publishing Settings tab. [screen shot]
  4. Under "Host", enter your primary domain name or your server's IP address. Under "Login", type your cPanel user name. Under "Password", paste your cPanel password. Under "Working directory", add the folder name of your Addon Domain's Document Root. Under "Web site URL", add the domain name to the new subdomain or addon domain name (may require www). 5. Click the Verify Location button to test the settings, and click OK when done.

You can now click the pencil icon to go back to the builder. [screen shot]

How to Update your existing Site

  1. Login to your Sitebuilder account and look at the top for the Admin Panel icon. Click the icon. [screen shot]
  2. In the left menu, click "Sites". Then look in the center for your site name. Click that name. [screen shot]
  3. Don't change anything, yet. Click the Publishing Settings tab. [screen shot]
  4. Now, you should only need to change two settings. Under "Working directory", add the folder name of your Addon Domain's Document Root. Under "Web site URL", change the domain name to the new subdomain or addon domain name (may require www). Click OK. [screen shot]

You are done. You can now click the pencil icon to go back to the builder. [screen shot]

Works as explained perfectly and was able to publish immediately!!

Once I do this, the main domain name uses wordpress and this addon domain will be using sitebuilder. What I need to make sure is that the main domain will not be affected.

Just set the FTP Publishing Settings correctly and there should be no conflict.
