Shared Web Hosting
Did you recently change your control panel password? Perhaps you have changed to a new server, or have a new domain name?
You can modify the FTP publishing settings to fix these problems.
- Login to your Sitebuilder account and look at the top for the Admin Panel icon. Click the icon. [screen shot 1]
- In the admin area, look in the center for your site name. Click that name. [screen shot 2]
- Don't change anything, yet. Click the Publishing Settings tab. [screen shot 3]
- Now, update all of the settings with any new information. Click the Verify Location button to test your settings. Click OK when you get a green success message. [screen shot 4]
If you still need help, please contact HostGator via phone, live chat, or email sales@hostgator.com and tell us when SiteBuilder stopped working.
Reseller and Dedicated Hosting
To restore a Sitebuilder user's ability to publish, you must update the user's account within the reseller level Sitebuilder. This may be necessary if you are a reseller your customer changed their cPanel password. Please follow the following steps:- Sign in and go to Users. Find the user name in question and scroll right until you see the flag icon. Click it. [screenshot 1]
- Find the name of the site and click it. [screenshot 2]
- You are directed to a new page. Click the Publishing Settings tab and click the Change Password button. [screenshot 3]
- Hit the Verify Location button to test the FTP. Then hit OK if it works. (FTP will fail if the domain name does not resolve to HostGator, or the user/pw is incorrect.)
