What is my EPP code? or Authorization Key?

This is a code provided by your old registrar, and required by your new registrar to complete a registration transfer. You must contact the old registrar to get it.

If HostGator is your old registrar, please email sales@hostgator.com with your request. We can only send the code to the Registrant contact email found in your registration whois information.

NOTE: Any emails sent from eNom to a comcast.net email addresses are blocked by ComCast and you will not receive them. This goes for domain transfer confirmations, password reminders, EPP codes, expiration notices, etc. To get email reminders, you must change your email address.

Although we are currently in the process of transferring the registrar for our client to a different one other than hostgator, my experience here has been very pleasant and we are currently looking into all of your services for future clients. Information was easy to find, good navigation, and excellent customer support (love the live chat feature that you have!)

Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Joe
Is the authorization code the same as the IP address?

HostGator
No, not even close.

You will need to contact your registrar for the code.

This is most know as "auth code" and can be found only at your registrar. This code is very confidential and must be secret, or someone can stole your domain.

What if your old registrar won't reply, is gone out of business etc? I cannot get anyone to contact me back to transfer my domain to you. I have several with this old registrar and it's killing my business. I'm completely helpless????

What can I do?

HostGator
Per www.internic.net:

Complaints about a registrar's performance that can not be resolved with a registrar may be addressed by private-sector agencies involved in addressing customer complaints (i.e. The Better Business Bureau at http://www.bbb.org/; The International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network at http://www.icpen.org/). If you believe your complaint concerns an illegal matter contact the appropriate law enforcement agency (which will vary depending on jurisdiction) or you may consult an attorney for legal advice.

My experience has been exceptional to say the least the first person I spoke with was Shaun, and I was impressed he very patient and very detailed. This was my first time trying to build a website and I was a complete novice but with their help and support I must say that I am feeling much better about building another one on my own. Although I am transferring my domain I will miss the phone support of the customer service personnel. They a excellent !! I recommend them ...

Thanks guys

Sincerely
Amoy

100% correct on the comcast.net emails being blocked when attempting a domain transfer. Tried it twice without getting an email to my comcast.net email. Third time, switched emails to msn.com and it worked.
