I don't like my domain name, can I change it?

If you registered domain1.com and you would rather have domain-one.net, then you must register the new name.

This means you will own both names. Once the original name is ready to expire, simply choose to not renew the registration (just don't pay for it).

You can also request HostGator to update your account to reflect the new domain name.

I don't like my domain name I chose a few days ago. If I have the basic hatchling account, how/where do I buy a new domain name? I can't see an option on cPanel?
Thanks

HostGator
The option is at the very top of your cPanel, called Register, Register a Domain, GO.

You can also find this option at http://hostgator.com/domains

Right here is says you can change the domain for $5 > http://support.hostgator.com/articles/billing/account-changes/how-do-i-change-my-domain-name-on-my-account.

HostGator
If you look closer at that article, you will notice we are not offering to change the domain name you registered.

Rather, that article explains how you can update the primary domain name associated with your HostGator billing and hosting account.
