Currently, when you sign up for sign up for shared or reseller web hosting with HostGator, your domain may be registered through HostGator's registrar LaunchPad.
To update your contact information for your domain name, which appears in WHOIS, please follow the directions below.
1. Login to Client Area - Please visit your billing account and login. If you cannot remember your password, click on the "Forgot Password" link below the login area and a password will be sent to the primary email on file.
2. View Domain Names - Once you have logged into your billing account you will need to select “View Domain Names” from the Left Side Bar under the “Billing Details” section.
3. Click on the Domain Name - You then see a list of your domains registered. The domains in blue are domains registered with LaunchPad, and you can select the domain which you would like to update your WHOIS information. You will then be taken to a page to manage your domain fully.
4. Edit Contact Information - Please scroll down to the fourth section where you can see WHOIS information on file. You can then edit all your WHOIS information in this field with the appropriate information.
Apply to All? - If you check the box labeled "Check here to apply the Registrant information for all contact types" then all the information filled in for the Registrant Contact will also be used on the Administrative, and Technical contacts.
5. Click on Update Information - You will then scroll to the bottom of the page and click “Update Information” and you WHOIS information will be updated. Once you have finished updating your Whois information you will then be able to receive any and all emails regarding your domain and it's management.
