How to Change Nameservers with BigRock

Step 1: Find Out Nameservers for Your Hosting Account

The first step is to find out which nameservers you should use for your HostGator hosting account; this varies by server and type of hosting. For instructions on how to find your nameservers, please read the following article:

Step 2: Change Nameservers

  1. Sign in to your control panel at
  2. Select the domain name to be updated.
  3. Click Order Information.
Note: If the domain name is locked or suspended, it will first need to be unlocked/unsuspended before proceeding further.
  1. Click the Name Servers link.
  2. Input the nameservers found in your HostGator welcome email.
  3. Click Update Name Servers.
Once you have made changes to your nameservers at the registrar, there will be 24-48 hours of DNS propagation time during which your website and email may not be available.
