HostGator Email - Getting Started

Once your website is online and your domain is pointed to your server, you will want to be able to use your domain to host your own email. The easiest tool for this is Google Apps, however you can also host email yourself using your HostGator server:

Google Apps lets you host your domain email from directly through a Google Mail portal and includes the level of quality spam filtering that Gmail is known for as well as access to a whole suite of tools.

Host Your Email On Your Own Server

If you do not use Google Apps, your HostGator shared hosting server will allow you to host your own email. The process is simple and straightforward, and if you are using our nameservers, your mail will automatically be routed to your server.

All you need to do is create the email and then you can either access it with either webmail, or setup your phone or an email client to check your mail directly:

Create and Manage New Email Accounts

The first thing you will need to do is to create an email account to receive email at. This can be done directly inside of your cPanel account from the Email Accounts icon.

Access Your Email via Webmail

Note: Anytime you log into an email address you will use the full email address as the username, and the password specific to that email address as the password.
