So, you want your private name servers to be used for all future accounts you create.
Note: This will only set the name server entries in the DNS zones. Your customer must still update their name servers with their registrar. Read more in the Private Name Servers, setup and DNS Glue related articles.
Reseller, Dedicated, VPS & SEO Hosting:
This sets up the default name servers for the entire server (or entire account if Reseller or SEO Hosting). This only effects new accounts. Existing accounts keep their current name servers.
- In WHM, click "Basic cPanel/WHM Setup".
- Replace the information after "Nameserver 1:" with your primary private name server (Example: ns1.domain.com).
- Replace the information after "Nameserver 2:" with your secondary private name server (Example: ns2.domain.com).
- Finally, click Save Changes.
Dedicated Servers & VPS with Reseller Accounts:
On dedicated servers and VPS, you have the option of creating reseller accounts. This is how to set the default name servers on an individual reseller account created in WHM. Individual reseller accounts can have different default name servers than the default ones set for the entire server.
Like the default name servers for the entire server, this only effects new accounts. Existing accounts keep their current name servers.
- In WHM, click "Reseller Center".
- In the third area called Reseller Modifications, select the user/domain and click "Edit reseller privileges & nameservers".
- Now scroll all the way to the very bottom.
- Replace the information after "Nameserver 1:" with your primary private name server (Example: ns1.domain.com).
- Replace the information after "Nameserver 2:" with your secondary private name server (Example: ns2.domain.com).
- Finally, click Save All Settings.
