Requesting a New cPanel Password

If you have lost or forgotten your cPanel password, you can reset it using any one of the methods below:

Request a New Password through Your HostGator Customer Portal

You can request a new, random cPanel password quickly and easily through your HostGator Customer Portal at

To reset your cPanel password via your billing portal:

  1. Log in to your Billing Portal.
  2. Click the Packages icon at the top of the page.
  3. Next to the package you wish to edit, select Reset Password from the actions list:

  4. Enter and confirm a new password, or use the password generator, then click the Change Password button:

You will receive a notification that your password has successfully changed as well as an email containing your new password and you will now be able to log into cPanel with the password you have just set.

Change Your Password

When you request a new password through your billing account, the password emailed to you will be a randomly generated password. If you would like to change your password to something easier to remember, you can do so from within cPanel.

cPanel Reset Password Link

The cPanel login screen contains a link to your billing portal that will include WalkMe directions to reset your password through your customer portal:

  1. Click Reset Password on the lower right side of the screen.
  2. Log in to your billing portal and follow the popup prompts to reset your password.
