Change an Existing DNS Zone Record

To change an existing DNS zone record:

  1. Log into Plesk.
  2. Click the Websites & Domains tab > DNS Settings.
  3. Next to the domain to be modified, click [Manage].
  4. Under Host, click the domain name for the record that needs to be modified.
    • For example, to modify an existing A record, you would click on the domain on the same line as the A record.
  5. Make the necessary modifications.
  6. Click OK.

The same steps will be taken to modify any other pre-existing DNS zone records. After making your changes, please allow between 4 to 8 hours for changes to propagate.


Adding DNS Zone Records

To access the DNS Editor in Plesk, please follow the steps listed below:

  1. Log into Plesk.
  2. Click the Websites & Domains tab > DNS Settings.
  3. Next to the domain to be modified, click [Manage].
  4. To add a new record, click Add a Record.
MX Records
  1. From the drop-down menu, change the Record type to MX (if necessary).
  2. Mail domain should be left blank.
  3. Set the mail exchange server to the name of your mail server (for example ghs.google.com).
  4. The party who gave you the mail exchange server name may also have given you a priority number; if not, very high(0) is fine.
  5. Click OK.
A Records
  1. From the drop-down menu, change the Record type to A (if necessary).
  2. For Domain name, enter the subdomain you want to host.
  3. For IP Address, enter the IP of your desired server.
  4. Click OK.
CNAME Records
  1. From the drop-down menu, change the Record type to CNAME (if necessary).
  2. For Domain name, put in the subdomain you want to host.
  3. For Canonical name, enter the name of your desired server.
  4. Click OK.
